During our trip to New Orleans we visited two plantations, Houmas House and Oak Alley, and Houmas House was definitely the better of the two. Houmas House allows you walk through all the rooms and touch practically anything. While in Oak Alley, most of the rooms are roped off and you can only peek your head in.
